Teach Motivated Adult Students in Saudi Arabia or China

Reference no.: WSEDE06M
Position: Full time English language teacher to adults
Locations: China – Shanghai & Shenzhen or Saudi Arabia
Interviewing: Now
Start date: Year round

The Job
Wall Street Institute is looking for experienced, outgoing English teachers who can inspire our adult students to learn while ensuring they have a great time doing so.

Are you looking to develop your teaching career in Asia’s most vibrant and exciting cities, working alongside an international team of teachers where every day at work you will be making a real difference?

The Schools
Wall Street English is the leading language provider for adult students globally, with a dominant presence worldwide. Our innovative Wall Street English Method integrates the best of proven teaching approaches to provide the most effective English language education available for adults. Students listen, read, write, speak, and practice English under the tutelage of native English speaking teachers.

Founded 40 years ago and growing stronger every year, Wall Street English has provided instruction to over 2 million students and has over 400 centers in 27 countries.

We now have positions available in the vibrant cities of Shanghai and Shenzhen in China as well as cities in Saudi Arabia.

The Students
Students are typically 20 to 35 years old professionals, well educated and from a wide variety of backgrounds. They are motivated to learn English and recognise it as a skill essential for their career development. Levels range from beginner right through to advanced and all students are clearly placement tested to ensure they are studying alongside students of the same abilities.

The Courses
Standard Classes
Class sizes are kept small, to an average of 3 students per class, which helps ensure real progress is made by all and allows for easy classroom management.

Lessons are made up of a variety of teaching materials and are designed to be engaging and communicative. Teachers guide students through both controlled practice and authentic conversation activities. All the lesson materials are already in place, so minimal lesson planning is required.

Social Club
Teachers also run sessions with more of a social focus, designed to further give students the opportunity to use their language in a natural setting, while having fun at the same time. Topics are limited only by your imagination and can be anything from baking cookies to speed dating.

Professional Development
You will not only be teaching, but also developing your own skill sets and competencies. Teacher training and support is central to our company culture and through workshops, seminars and class observations you will be constantly expanding the teaching methods at your disposal. Time is devoted to idea and experience sharing so you always have fresh ideas to work with.

Shanghai – The City
Shanghai is the possibly the most vibrant city in world, and certainly the most exciting in China. From its famous skyline and it busy thoroughfares to its small lanes and neighborhoods; Shanghai has something to offer for everyone.

Shanghai was where China first met the West and it’s still a frontier town, obsessed with the latest fads, fashions and technology. But tucked between the shopping malls and the eye-popping modern architecture is the old Shanghai, where temples nestle down alleys, along with street markets and classical Chinese gardens.

Shanghai is a city of stunning contrasts, where visitors can go from sipping a cocktail in a designer bar overlooking the Bund, to eating dumplings at a street stall, or gazing at a 10th-century Buddhist monastery, in the space of a few hours. Summer is hot and humid, winter can get cold, but Shanghai never stops.

Shenzhen – The City
Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong province in China, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong, Shenzhen's location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in Shenzhen. From then on, Shenzhen become a highlighted city of China, one known for its rapid economic growth.

Shenzhen is considered as one of the richest cities in the country which offers foreigners a great insight into contemporary China. From a small fishing village 30 years ago, Shenzhen has turned into a city filled with dynamic energy and on its way to becoming a world-class metropolis. Shenzhen is also known for its famous architecture, bars, restaurants, art scenes and shopping areas.
