Job Position: US-Brazil Connect 2014 Education/Facilitation Specialist - Denver, Colorado and Brazil

Position Summary: The Education/Facilitation Specialist acts as the central educational lead for a team of U.S. Fellows during their work as English Language 'coaches' to teams of Brazilian high school students. This is a temporary contract position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week from February-May, one month full-time in Brazil (June or July 2014) and 10 hours a week for 8 weeks following the program in Brazil. The schedule for the U.S. portion of the position is flexible. This position supports Fellows by helping them to implement US-Brazil Connect's Conexão Mundo curriculum framework with their Brazilian students through all three phases of the program. Responsibilities include: modeling assignments, facilitating teambuilding exercises and peer support groups and providing on-the-ground coaching support and lesson-planning assistance. The Education/Facilitation Specialist collaborates with the Team Coordinator, who serves as the team lead for logistics and communication with Brazilian partners.

• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong leadership skills required, including demonstrated experience leading groups
• Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language or English as a Second Language is
required; may substitute 3+ years of teaching youth if no ESL/EFL experience; training
experience preferred
• Strong interest in using own skills and experience to support the leadership and
teaching skills of a team of US Fellows in their work with Brazilian students
• Energetic team player with ability to create an inclusive environment
• Strong interest in working directly with a group of 12-13 Brazilian high school students
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and interest in using a variety of technologies including Facebook and Google
(Drive, Hangout, etc.)
• Flexibility and desire to travel to Brazil (one month during summer)
• High tolerance for ambiguity and change
• Strong intercultural communication skills
• Intercultural experience and experience with international exchange programs
• Portuguese language skills are an asset, but are not a requirement of this position
