As a San Francisco public school educator you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students alongside supportive and talented colleagues. You will be an integral part of the district’s effort to close the achievement gap and achieve social justice for all of San Francisco’s students.
Though we are not hiring externally through 5/17/13, we will need Bilingual Educators who hold:
Multiple Subjects (K-8) Credentials with: Mandarin, Cantonese and Spanish BCLADs (Authorization for Bilingual instruction).
Specific openings will be posted on an ongoing basis through our online application system. Please check back frequently throughout the spring and summer for openings in other credential areas. Classroom teachers are responsible for classroom instruction in the areas in which they are assigned. Teachers must set clear short-term and long-term goals to drive instruction. Teachers deliver a standards-based curriculum and assess student needs consistently in relation to the curriculum objectives. Ongoing pupil progress must be recorded and used to prepare meaningful reports that inform parents of progress. Teachers must maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and implement the school's student management policies and procedures. Teachers are held accountable for the safety and welfare of all students. Teachers are expected to work with other teachers and administrators to address and resolve student issues, and the necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students must be provided.
• A Current California Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services Credential or an out-of-state equivalent by July 2013.
• Authorization to work with English Language Learners, commonly known as CLAD, ELA (English Learner Authorization) or BCLAD Certification (Out-of-state applicants may be granted one year to earn their CLAD certification in California).
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (SFUSD does not sponsor H1B Visas)

Please note that the first day of work for teachers is August 14, 2013.
