BACKGROUND
English Gate Academy is a private educational and training company founded in May 2010 by Dr. Ahmed Al Eisa, former president of Al Yamamah University, who has more than 20 years of experience in leading educational and training institutions. EGA’s mission is to provide high quality English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and General English training to female employees of private and governmental agencies in order to develop the employees’ English language skills in their related professions. Programs are designed to meet the specific English language needs of women in their areas of specialization.
Position Announcements: ESL Instructors (women only) starting January 2013 and ongoing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include 20 hours of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses or general English language courses. Administrative duties include record keeping and report writing; participation in program activities (training, orientation, workshops, testing and placement, etc.); participation in meetings (with students, faculty, parents, and others on and off campus); keeping office hours to advise/ counsel students who may need extra help. Instructors may also be required to serve on committees and participate in on- and off-site activities and events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Native English Speaker with passport from a primarily English speaking country
• BA or BS degree from an accredited university (ESL, Education or English related preferred)
• Strong computer skills with experience using technology in the classroom
• 120-hour TEFL certification or CELTA with teaching practicum (no purely online certificates are accepted or less than 120 hours)
• Have teaching experience with adult learners (three years minimum preferred)
• Be creative and flexible in order to adapt to an experiential, project- and needs-based approach to teaching
• Be committed to students, the profession and to a learner-centered teaching method
• Be sensitive to cultural differences (able to adapt to a way of life requiring understanding, conformity and flexibility)
• Preferred: Have MA in TESL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics or in Education with TESOL specialization and/or DELTA (Online degrees without an on-campus, residential component and less than one year are not accepted)

SALARY, BENEFITS AND TERMS

* $35,000-$45,000 USD at 3.75 SAR per $1, tax-free salary per annum depending on experience and qualifications
* round-trip transportation to and from Saudi Arabia
* spacious, furnished apartments (shared at no cost and single apartments available for a fee)
* medical insurance coverage
* 45-days paid annual leave with international transportation (according to school schedule)
* 10 days paid local holidays
* transportation to and from work plus regular shopping and excursions
* end of year bonus , 5% on base salary

BE PREPARED FOR YOUR SAUDI VISA
Here are some general tips so you can be ready for the Saudi visa application:
• Have a recent, police or security clearance letter or certificate from your home country (original and not older than 6 months)
• Have an appointment with your doctor to complete a health check (a special form must be signed and stamped by a physician provided by your school or visa company)
• Have 12 passport size photos (health certificates, visas, medical check in Saudi and multiple exit/re-entry visas require photos, they’re great to have on hand for the year)
• Have original degrees and certificates and scanned copies of all of them
• Have original, sealed transcripts
• Have reference letters from previous supervisors
• Have a release letter from your previous employer if you worked in Saudi before (even if it was a long time ago)
• Have enough pages left in your passport and make
