Nazo's Pre-reading Activity 10
Here is the last one of my pre-reading activities. I am sure you have many to add to these ones.
This activity is also called "Running Dictation" It would be nice if the story involved a problem solving question.
1- Teacher(T) summarizes the text into 12 sentences.
2- The story is stuck on the board.
3- The class is divided into pairs.
4- Each pair consists of a "runner" and a "secretary"
5- The runners run to the board and remember each sentence and dictate them to their secretaries.
6- The task of the secretaries is to write the sentences that the runners dictate.
7- If the story is ambiguous, the T can ask a question for the pairs to solve. E.g., Who is the murderer?
P.S: I would appreciate a lot if you could write feedback to me how this activity worked in your class.
Thanks a lot.
