Delightful dictionaries
I found my experience with Bi-lingual dictionaries to be the opposite from Mr. Denny's. Since my learners are at an Advanced level, they often ask the meaning of words that are difficult to define exactly. If I look it up in a bilingal dictionary, I can point to the word and show them the exact meaning in their language. They write in their notebooks which helps them remember it when they encounter the word again. Susan, Chicago, IL
