Speaking of Dialogues
This is a simple idea born out of the necessity to find useful dialogues for controlled speaking practice. I simply have the students come up with their own as a group depending on the theme I am teaching. That is, I ellicit the words form the entire class and write the correct version on the board. They copy the speaking parts, we practice chorally and then in pairs. I have used this to help give them realistic expectations when phoning for appointments and looking for jobs. The students really enjoy them and are encouraged to practice them in their free time.
