Nazo's Board Pelmanism
For this game the whole class is involved. The class is divided into 2(or 3, since there are 3 rows in Turkish classes). The teacher has already prepared 8 cuecards with animal pictures, either drawn or pictures from magazines. The teacher has also got 8 cuecards with animal names written. Steps of the game:
1- The teacher mimes and makes the sound of the 8 animals that s/he would like to teach or revise.
2- The class mimes and makes the sound of the animals together with the teacher.
3- The teacher shows a picture and the class mimes and makes the sound.
4- The teacher shows the picture to one group and that group mimes and makes the sound.
5- This teaching part could be repeated depending on the students' level.
6- The teacher sticks the animal pictures face down on the board with blutack in a horizontal line. Each cuecard is given a number 1 to 8. Under this line the other cuecards with animal names are also blutacked face down. These cuecards are given letters from A to H.
7- Now, groups play in turns by saying e.g. 5 - B. If the picture matches with the word, the group can keep the cards and can have another turn. If not, the teacher sticks both cards on the same places. The group with most cards is the winner.
