Whenever the Weather

Home Main Submit Contents Recipes

This is a tongue twister from Edith Skinner's Speak with Distinction:

Whenever the weather is cold,
Or whenever the weather is hot,
We'll be together whatever the weather,
whether we like it or not.

Whenever the weather is hot,
Or whenever the weather is cold,
We'll be together whatever the weather,
Whether we're young or we're old.

Whenever the weather is good,
Or if ever the weather be bad,
We'll be together whatever the weather
Whether we're happy or sad.

Here's another speech exercise (I learned it as an acting student):

Billy bangs both bongos in the banjo band. Bang d-d-l-l-l -- Doesn't he bang grand? With a band d-d-l-l-l, band d-d-l-l-l, bang d-d-l-l in the banjo band.
