What are you?
![]()
To reinforce the copula and increase vocabulary with my beginners (and have a laugh or two), I do an oral drill, giving the students a category: I say "Wing, you are a season, what are you?" The student must answer in full sentences and there are limitless categories as vocabulary gets richer. (Ex. a car, an ice cream flavor, a place, a color, etc.) Once the students get the "I am..." part down, I ask them about each other to elicit the "she/he is..." part. For common choices, "we are, they are..." Students love to play this game as it tests their memory and allows them humor & fantasy while drilling the grammar. Name: Sari
