I was an ESL teacher in Ch'angwon, South Korea. I have found that many ESL teachers in South Korea are using the game, "Hang Man" very very often with some classes. One way to improve upon this favourite game is, instead of providing blanks for just one word, providing blanks for an entire sentence. It could even be a sentence about a student in your class or about yourself. I found that sentences showed the language in more meaningful wholes than just single words. Also, the students are more motivated to solve the puzzle because they want to know the message, not just the word.
