Guess Who
I played a game with my students when I taught Spanish and I will be teaching ESL to Spanish speakers now and I'm sure it will be just as successful.
I went through some magazines I had at home and I cut out people of all ages and races. I layed them all on a table and I would say a particular quality, such as "This person is wearing the color yellow." The student would then take out every person who was not wearing the color yellow. I would call out a different quality until the student finally narrowed it down to the one particular person I was describing. Afterwards, I had the student describe that person in as many words as they could, in either written or spoken form. It was very successful and it kept the student's attention.
