Simplified Wheel of Fortune

Draw a blank on the white board for each letter of a recently introduced vocabulary word. For example, if the word is "resume" you would draw ____ ____ ____ _____ ____ _____
Go around the circle (if a small class) and ask them to guess a letter. If they guess one of the letters, write it in the appropriate blank. If not, write the letter off to the side to show that the letter has been used. If the letter appears in the word more than once, fill in all the blanks where it goes. When anyone in the class thinks they know the word, they shout it out. I learned this one from my TEFL teacher, Laura. It's a less grisly alternative to "hangman".
