Spell e bration Time Come On
Divide the students into small groups (no more than 3 students per group) or they can play individually. Give each group a cup with alphabet letters cut-out and laminiated. I use all 26 letters plus extra vowels. I then hold-up a picture from the current vocabulary unit and the students race to spell it. First group to spell it correctly gets a treat. For lower level students, you can show the picture first, then turn the card over so they can see how to spell it. It helps them to learn the alphabet and get some practice spelling. The more complex the words get, the more letters you may need to provide.
