I have a very difficult kindergarten class that do not respond well to, well, anything except a piece of paper and a loud voice. This is what I am doing tommorrow for phonics:
1. What words begins with ___?(list them on whiteboard, even if they don't know how to spell, just to get them used to seeing the english)
2. -make a fair size grid, numbering each square
-dictate an easy-to-draw word they've helped you list on the board
saying the number of the square(#1, draw happy, give them ideas)
3. -for a time filler, photocopy pictures for a "find the ____s" eg
circle all the hats in the picture
-for the super quick, have them color the picture afterwards
