Fantastic Newspaper Fashion Parades
This is a really fun activity for a unit on Clothing. First teach your class the names of some clothes (eg. T-shirt, pants, belt etc..). Teach about 5- 6 items. Then divide the class into teams of 3-4 people. The students have to dress one student ( a model) in clothes made out of newspaper. Then another student has to describe what the model is wearing (eg. She/He is wearing a t-shirt, pants, a belt and a hat). It gets students to practice new clothing vocabulary while having fun.
Have a catwalk and some music playing in the background as the models from each team strut up and down and the commentating student speaks. It worked really well in my high school classes and also at English Camps.
