Paying Attention Problems???
I teach in China nad hae had many problems with students wanting to do their homework in my class. My usual class size is about 80-100 students per class. I explain to them that in class, I need them to pay attention as most of my classes will be discussions. So everything must be off their desks at the beginning of every class. I taught at the same school last year and had so many problems with students, and because of this my students respond better to the questions I ask. Also with rule, "everything off your desk" means your head can't be on the desk either!!! I ahve had many teachers claim that I have more student attention in my classes than she has, but when I told her my secret, she followed and has noticed an improvment too!!
