a taste of home
Many of my adult students have been quite technophobic; very intimidated by computers, not to mention the internet. I found a great ice-breaker for the internet was to have them do a search for their home town or village. They were amazed and delighted to see sights, and evn names they recognized. The giggles abounded and they couldn't wait to search for other personal interests, such as home recipes...
