"Oh What a Night" - What a song, What exclamations
December '63 - "Oh what a night" - is a great song for illustrating these common exclamations. If you are teaching this using not so exciting examples in some book..."What a nice day" or whatever can be dry without really good context. Here is a song with an upbeat, high emotion and a whole lot of "what a" exclamations. Recall, Oh WHAT a NIGHT...WHAT a very special TIME for me...WHAT a LADY...WHAT a NIGHT...etc. The song and its words go hand in hand and speak for themselves on the nature of these types of explanations. You could turn this into a CLOZE (fill in the blanks)listening lesson as well. Fill in the words after "What a" as you listen.
