I Hate Videos
Videos are not the easy ride that they appear to be, at least not for beginner and intermediate students. Students need a lot of written / teacher support to absorb the vocabulary, and they need to see a video a few times to really understand it (BORING). Not everybody can see the TV equally well since it doesn't "roam" the classroom like a teacher. Besides, most videos are not for legal viewing anyway. I keep them for emergencies like laryngitis, blizzards and illiterate substitute teachers.
If you want more bang for your buck, just get a small tape recorder with adjustable speed playback (is that a language-master?) and let groups of students use it for recording short plays or daily news. They will be amazed with what THEY can do. And isn't that the whole point?
