the weather is a turn off
Students often wish to see the weather forecast but say the presenter talks too fast. Turn off the TV sound and ask the student to summarise from the weather symbols, map etc. Feedback on language to provide support, then watch the programme again on video. It should be easier second time around, with the sound on!
