Learning Prepositions with The Beatles
![]()
For a great preposition review, play Octopus's Garden by The Beatles. The lyrics are fairly easy for a foreign ear to understand, and it's chock full of prepositions. There's even one that is incorrect; you can challenge the students to find it. Unfortunately, I misplaced my disk with the lyrics, but they're easy to figure out. The mistake is really just a technicality: "I'd like to be under the sea," says Ringo. But how can you be UNDER the sea without digging a hole in the ocean floor? Of course, this is not where the octopus keeps its garden.
Have fun!
