Hometown Information

Home Main Submit Contents Recipes

If your hometown has it's own webpage, this is a good internet activity. I tell my students the name of my hometown and what province it is in in Canada. Then I ask them to find out some pieces of information, using only english internet servers, such as Yahoo Canada. Some questions have been: What is the name of the bridge in my town? What is the phone number for the Bank of Nova Scotia? What was the weather like in my town today? I've also asked them to find a map of their own city on the internet. The first to find all the answers wins a prize, or gets ten minutes to play StarCraft!
Note: be aware of the contents of your hometown webpage so you are not asking questions that are impossible to answer!
