I like some of the ways teachers have been using games. I have had some success in company lessons with a homemade version of "Stockticker". We make a board and stock certificates based on local businesses, first having gone over w hy we like those stores or services etc. A surprising benefit, because the preparation involves most of the language exchange as the game is limited to "I'd like to buy/sell etc.", is that the students eventually become more and more assertive, interuptin g roller before their stocks go up or down. Businessmen at a shipbuilding company I teach at enjoy our auction game based on "Masterpiece", where we spend some time gathering information about the company's products and describe them at each 'auction'.
