Just a little reminder not to forget that it's the little functional language that makes the difference in the classroom. When you have oral interaction activities don't forget to supply your students with the basic sentences that they need. For example sentences like, It's my turn or It's your turn and I agree or I choose this or I think this is the correct answer etc. Pretend you are playing the game or performing the task yourself. Write down all the sentences you think you would have to use. Now supply your students with a helpful list or write these sentences on the board. This helps students use the new language and not fall back on their mother tongue. By getting your students to really use the new language during cooperative tasks you are giving them the basic tools and confidence they need.
