In Response To: Becoming a Teacher (ChrisT)

I taught in Japan for six years, and my fellow teachers had degrees in all kinds of subjects. Lots of humanities, of course, but I also knew a few people with STEM degrees. As you might have seen in your research, the Japanese government's requirement for a work visa is simply a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience, but I have no idea what would qualify). From there, it comes down to individual employers' requirements and preferences and how they like your resume.
