You can be sure your potential advanced EFL students are using the latest technologies for messaging, entertainment, news, culture, etc. So, you can base classroom lesson plans around those technologies. The world wide web has a plethora of issues/events to investigate so have your students, under your supervision, investigate and report back to the classroom in written and verbal modes what interest them and why. Your lessons can revolve around student interest. Increased English vocabulary and written/verbal reasoning will help them with TOEFL.
