In Response To: Short term work in Asia with little/no experience (Alv)

No EFL/ESL teaching experience and no academic second language credentials puts you at an extreme hiring disadvantage. To be brutally honest no EFL teaching organization is going to invest or call in someone with the absence of the said credentials for a short period of time. The EFL teaching field is extremely competitive even for those beginners with teaching experience and suitable second language academic qualifications and even in less developed countries.

To be hired as a volunteer you would almost have to be in the country of your desire and at the right moment of hiring. No foreign school calls foreign potential EFL volunteer teachers, particularly for a short term basis.

Your best bet as a EFL teaching volunteer is to research less developed countries, which you have ruled out, and Latin America countries such as Nicaragua, Columbia, Ecuador, Venezuela, but you may want to research the political turmoil in some of these said countries before venturing there.
