Not sure by what you mean in your statement "...if I get the TESOL...". Are you referring to a degree, diploma, certificate?

Nevertheless, whatever qualification you do obtain, teaching English in South America can be a very exciting, culturally enhancing experience. Yes, you will be employable.

However, be prepared to teach for minimal wages like, a few dollars maybe less per hour, which may not even supplement retirement income if you need to travel to the teaching location. Speaking from experience, I found the TEFL experience well worth it, minimal wages aside!
