In Response To: Celta? (Yana Porter)

I completed the celta in feb 2017 and i'm just coming to the end of completing my first year.

I can say without a doubt, the Celta prepared me for my first year of teaching. Basically through it's intensity. I didn't rest of socialize during those four weeks, and missed out on making some of the friendships the others did, but someone did fail the course and I didn't want it to be me.

I passed and the pain and long nights I endured made me the hardest working teacher in my school. now colleagues borrow my lesson plans and even try to hike bits out of my exams.

That is what Celta will do for you, if you have a strong work ethic in the first place.

I did my Celta at IHouse, Chiang Mai, they have a swimming pool which was on of my main sources of relaxation, great rooms, food and a nearby restaurant with an English guy called Steve .. who will provide emotional support.

Bear in mind, all these rumours about seeing the country while your there could be rumours ... ive had basically 10 days actual holiday in an academic year. You are there to work and the native teachers often have more on their plate than you. So don't complain and enjoy what activities come your way.

that's my outlook.
