In Response To: Additional certifications past a M.Ed? (Tom)

It really depends which country and at what level you want to teach. International schools for diplomat/businessmen's kids want High School licences and experience. Many local schools and universities will be happy with you as you are, but if they are a language institute or a top-flight university with a Linguistics or EAP department then they will want qualification and experience in that area. Minimum is a CELTA - not only the basics of how to teach but also in the ESL context. For universities as described, many will want a DipTESOL or MA in Applied Linguistics or TESOL. You need to be more specific abut what you are hoping to do and where, or like on the country-specific forms on eslcafe.
