In Response To: teaching short term in Hong Kong (Amy)

Realistically, there is not much hope. In today's very, very competitive TEFL world, academic credentials (minimum university Bachelor degree plus a TEFL certificate) are mandatory for paid teaching positions. Schools and institutions, including those in Hong Kong, will seek applicants not only with teaching experience but with those necessary academic qualifications mentioned.

If you have the resources, you may want to investigate the CELTA English teaching certificate that is well known and respected worldwide and will provide your resume with more credibility.

Another caveat: TEFL employers prefer potential applicants to stay longer than 6 months for paid positions. It is economically more efficient for the school/institution to hire long term.
