I am currently a SPED teacher in California interested in teaching abroad. I already have my masters in special education and working on my TEFL right now. I want to make the right decision on where to go for teaching internationally for a year. I already have a current job position on the states and looking for one in September of 2017. I am interested in teaching in Thailand, China, or Japan. Can anyone tell me the benefits for working in these countries?

Frankly, your best bet is in a special ed role in an American or IB-curriculum private/international school in your target countries. That equates to top dollar and benefits, especially given the need for licensed, experienced SPED teachers abroad. That said, if you go the EFL route, your lack of TEFL experience may land you in entry-level spots with so-so pay and benefits.

For advice on jobs in your target countries, head to the link below. Also take a look at DoDEA and international school recruitment sites like Seek Teachers and Teach Away as well as the teachers' forum on International Schools Review.
