How best to get teaching experience in the UK?

Hi

I知 a 38 year old IT professional. I知 currently finishing a career break in Vietnam, during which I致e passed my CELTA. This is the only teaching experience that I have.

In a week or so I値l fly back to Nottingham. I値l return to my IT job. My plan is to work and save money for 6-12 months, then move to Vietnam and teach English. I don稚 have a degree. I understand that this is a limiting factor.

I want to get some teaching experience whilst in the UK, to confirm that teaching is something I really want to do. Ideally paid, but also happy to volunteer. I just want to develop as much as possible. I値l be working a typical Monday-Friday job, so my teaching availability will be weekday evenings or weekends.

This is where I知 a bit lost, and hoping for some guidance please. A few (potentially daft) questions I have are:

1. What position would be most beneficial for my development Teacher or Teaching Assistant?

2. Where could I get the experience? So far I致e thought of schools, non-profit places / charities, on-line teaching and language exchange.

3. This is probably the big one what痴 the best way to find this work? Are there any favoured websites or agencies, for either paid and voluntary teaching work? I値l be looking specifically in the Nottinghamshire area.

I have been googling to gather information, but I thought I壇 ask the real experts to see if anyone out there can assist.

Thanks for reading my post :-)

Lex
