More and more countries and schools nowadays DO require ESL/EFL teacher training in their staff.. But a lot of places like China and Korea don't seem to care what training - on-line/weekend certificates can suffice.
But if you have a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL (the best-recognised entry-level qualifications) then that will open a lot more doors.
Schools under the IH brand often have enthusiasic students, though the working hours tend to be antisocial and the management can be great or terrible; they are franchises.
Korea and Tiawan are the most 'interesting' places to go for many people with food and culture galore. Some students love the classes and some are told to go by parents.
