Yes, Focus 1 is an amazing concept. It stems from years of experience teaching and training in ESL locally and abroad. Focus 1 works with schools and organziations that are willing to take future teachers in and give them a chance. What more could anyone starting out ask for? Yes, I formerly worked for Global TESOL and they are absolutely fabulous. What they offer is so vast with an incredible network. Focus 1 simply caters to the Montrťal population offering opportunities to teach ESL locally within the PRIVATE sector and - or overseas. As for `legit`TESOL training schools, the plain truth is unless you`ve got a TESOL degree (or similar)from a credited university, (which would taken anywhere from 1-4 years)and desire to teach within the public sector in Canada, the USA or other, bonne chance! Many private TESOL training organizations including Focus 1 are there to get individuals started in teaching ESL. Focus 1 offers a practicum portion to the training as well! Imagine that! Skeptics - give it a rest. There`s no false advertising here. And what you`re getting at this price, you`d be crazy not to consider it. Re: Revenu Quťbec tax write-off, that`s exactly what it is. Tuition write-off - isn`t that amazing? If you`re really interested in teaching ESL, just do it. Consider what`s out there, your budget and time frame. Choose what`s best for you. Make it happen!
