To begin, forget about even applying in the UAE as the Middle East is an extremely competitive EFL teaching area where employers seek potential teaching applicants to have an academic Masters degree, preferably in Linguistics/Education.

Yes, you are correct there definitely are prejudiced EFL employers who are more interested in packing a classroom with eager students to be "entertained" by a "Western" looking foreign teacher.

Nevertheless, there is no need to despair. There are very reputable EFL employers in Korea who would hire you with your academic credentials. You may want to check with a Korean embassy to see whether your "Bach. of Fine Arts" is acceptable for visa entry purposes.

Check out Dave's country specific Board for more information about EFL teaching potential in Korea.
