In Response To: On line classes worth it? (Ceema)

"It seems that the biggest downfall of on line programs is that they don't offer the practical experience, but since I am already teaching would it make sense for me to do something on line? Or are employers really looking for a certificate from a live program with practicum?"

The key issue is that simply having taught doesn't demonstrate to a potential employer that you've done it WELL. The main benefit of onsite courses is that there is supervised teaching practice including feedback from experienced trainers on how you've done.

Consider taking a full-time course in the country where you want to start teaching. It's a good bridge into country/culture, you can be sure that your cert will be recognized by local employers, and a training centre can give you invaluable advice regarding reputable local employers.
