Not all MA TESOLs include a practical component, which is why some non-University language schools turn down MA-qualified potential employees (unless you have a CELTA or DELTA or similar that did include a practical component).

Some Australian MA TESOLs give credit for a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL, but most other places consider them for, if anything, Undergraduate credit.

However, several MA TESOLs do give credit for a DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL; I know of some in the UK, Australia and NZ, there may be some in the states. Many offer the option of on-campus or distance learning, so you may not have to move away fro NY.

I've not heard of credit for classroom time, though; that's usually just something that gets you the better jobs or steps up the salary scale.
