I suppose it depends what you define as "recognized qualification".

Every TEFL course under the sun claims to offer a "recognized qualification".

We all know that most of these are no better than studying on your own and printing up your own certificate. At least if you study from a book written by Penny Ur, Jeremy Harmer, Jill Hatfield, et al at least you know your learning from experts :-)
