In your home country you might teach migrants, refugees or students on a student visa, etc there to learn English in a language school.
In other countries there are kindergartens, universities, High schools, evening classes and business classes, some wanting entertainment in English, some wanting conversation, grammar or anything else, and some wanting preparation for specific exams....there are may contexts in which you could be teaching and all of them are different.

it is easier to communicate with someone if you speak their language, but if they are trying to learn another language then, in general and assuming a compatible age/leaning style of the student, it is useful to try all in the target language.
