If you are seriously thinking of teaching EFL in the Middle East, a post graduate Masters degree is a must. The competition for teaching positions in the Middle East is very competitive and the remuneration is relatively good with many benefits.

Have you researched Australian universities? Most Australian universities offer post graduate Masters degrees in second language linguistics and teaching and these degrees can be done on-line.

The final degree you receive is equivalent as one completed on campus site. Australian post graduate Masters degrees in second language teaching are well recognized and received globally.

Definitely go beyond your TESOL certificate to better reach your academic aims.

You certainly can live anywhere you choose in this world; however, trying to obtain a legal full time teaching job in Europe is not easy if you are not an EU citizen. And, there are many, many English speaking EU citizens (Brits, Scots, Irish, etc.) with legal status in Europe also trying to make a living at what you are aspiring.
