In Response To: Grammar Overview for New Teachers? (Kelly)

Hi

There is no point in trying to run an intensive course on teaching grammar. The best advice is to explain to the prospective teachers that they need to prepare for the grammar point/s before and specifically for the point/s being taught in a given lesson. Also grammar taught out of context is a waste of everyone's time, so trainee teachers need to understand that all grammar should be incorporated into lessons in contexts. So in my opinion it would be better to demonstrate how grammar can be incorporated into a general lesson for example.

All the best.

Katrina
