Degree for teaching English in Asia/South America

Hello everyone,
I graduated from a Russian university with a diploma in teaching English in 2002. I am now looking into a possibility of teaching English in Asian/South American countries and what I read everywhere is that a bachelors degree is required by most of schools. I don't think a diploma of my uni is recognized outside of Russia in terms that I cannot work as a teacher with it, but my understanding is that schools do not ask for a teaching degree, but for a degree as such. My question is whether they will be satisfied with the fact that I have a degree in Russia, or they will want a recognized university degree? Thank you in advance for your opinions.
