Like all other countries in the world, I am sure China has some very stringent academic requirements for foreign teachers seeking full time teaching positions in its public educational institutions.

You do not mention whether you are seeking a part time EFL teaching position, or seeking a full time EFL teaching position in a government operated institution in which case more academic credentials are necessary on your part.

A TESOL certificate will probably get you in the door but at the bottom of the pecking order and there to stay without additional, reputable, academic upgrade.
