In Response To: OBTAINING CERTIFICATION! , HELP! (Craig)

I am a 24 year old with a BA in Business. I have an interest in travelling and living in a new country and teaching English. I am curious what certifications are helpful and most basic in obtaining a position abroad?

To determine what requirements and credentials you need, start by looking at both the visa regulations and a half dozen TEFL job ads for the countries you want to teach in and let that be your guide. Otherwise, get an entry-level teaching qualification like a CELTA, SIT TESOL, or Trinity CertTESOL, which are accepted by employers worldwide. I also suggest you check out the country-specific forums over on the ESL Cafe's jobs discussion page.
