In Response To: CELTA + MA - extraneous? (Casey)

The vast majority of potential employers who see an MA TESOL/Linguistics on your CV will ask you to prove it included observed classroom practice teaching sessions. Many don't. many are purely theoretical.

If it does, great. If it doesn't, they you will likely find some jobs closed to you.
This can be solved if you have a CELTA.

Or better yet, do a DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL and use that as part credit towards an MA TESOL. Many MA TSOL programmes allow that (the DELTA and Trinity websites have partial lists, but other universities may allow credit if you ask).
