In Response To: The DELTA/MA myth (Milly)

I am not too sure whether this type of question has been posted a gazillion times but in my quick scan of questions asked I couldn't find it, but forgive me if this is the case.

I had an interview a while ago for a job and it was discussed that as I already hold an MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT all I would have to do is module 2 of the DELTA and be awarded the DELTA, is this true??

I have tried to look online but I can't find anything that would indicate this. I know you can carry the DELTA into some MA programmes and it can give you some credits.

The reason I am asking is that I have just started a new job with all kinds of possibilities but they're really pushing for me to do the DELTA but I really don't want to re-cover ground I have already extensively worked on. Module 2 I get as it's really practice orientated.

So again I go back to my question will my MA and a completed module 2 of the DELTA give me full-blown DELTA??

That would be a question for cambridgeenglish.org since the Delta is one of their programs. Contact them. Alternately, you might check with your degree program's advisor.
