Have you received a response or read anything about employers preferring degrees from American universities?

AU in Cairo and AU in Beirut are English language, American universities; they've been accredited by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education since 1982 and 2004 respectively. Additionally, degrees from AUB have been registered with New York State Education Department since 1863. So yes, an MA in TEFL from AUC or AUB is acceptable by employers, especially in the Mid East and of course, the US. In fact, I've worked with several AUC alumni. There's at least one known ESL Cafe member, veiledsentiments, who holds an MA from AUC; she frequently posts in the Cafe's Middle East job discussion forums.
