In Response To: Excellent TESOL one month programs is the USA (Maria)

Can anyone recommend a strong TESOL one month practical TESOL program in the USA ?

I know that there is SIT TESOL.
Any others that are not expensive but recognized around the world ?

The only entry-level, English language teaching qualifications that are "recognized" world wide are the branded certs (i.e., CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, and SIT TESOL). However, that doesn't mean an equivalent, non-branded 120-hour TEFL cert won't be "accepted" by employers. Look at the job ads to see what employers generally require, and if you see CELTA, SIT, etc., or the words "internationally recognized," then you're expected to have a branded cert. Obviously, you can always apply with a plain Jane, non-branded TEFL cert and see what happens.

You're the only one who knows your budget and other personal expectations and needs. I suggest you go to the top of this webpage where you'll see a drop-down list of TEFL course providers, including some that offer face-to-face instruction. CELTA course providers are indicated as well, which is what you'll want if you're focused solely on an "excellent, internationally-recognized" cert. (Similarly, the CELTA and SIT websites list course providers and locations.) Research the courses that fit your needs, time frames, and budget and then enroll. Simple as that. But realistically, be ready to pay more for a CELTA or SIT certificate course. If you can't afford it, then either save up until you can, or go with one of the plain Jane certs and see what that gets you. Your decision.
